BoardMark
Data location

Where is my data?

In Thailand. Every company on BoardMark, whatever its country, is served from one region: Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific (Thailand), in Bangkok. The database, the files and the backups are all in that region.

Stored in Thailand

  • Database (Amazon RDS) — accounts, companies, access, billing and the index of your work
  • Files (Amazon S3) — projects, issues, comments, sprints and project docs as Markdown files with the history of every change, and attachments
  • Every BoardMark service (web app, API and MCP server) runs in this region
  • Backups of the database and the files stay in the same region

Delivered through Amazon CloudFront

Web pages and app files reach your browser through the Amazon CloudFront network, which may pass through locations outside Thailand. Attachments are uploaded and downloaded through short-lived presigned links straight to Amazon S3 in Thailand.

No other region yet

Companies in Thailand and companies abroad share this one region. There is no United States, European or other hosting region to choose yet. The Private plan (a separate BoardMark for one company) is hosted on AWS in the Thailand region too.

For people in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, section 14 of the Privacy Policy (in effect from 1 December 2026) explains the transfer to Thailand under the Standard Contractual Clauses and your rights.

Services that may handle some data outside Thailand

As listed in section 6 of the Privacy Policy, and only when the feature is used:

  • our email delivery provider — verification emails, invitations and notifications
  • LINE and Telegram — when you link an account to sign in or get notifications
  • browser push services — when you turn on device notifications
  • Atlassian — when an administrator imports from Jira
  • Google's storage — your browser downloads a face-detection model when you use "From a photo" (your photo goes nowhere)
  • webhook destinations and AI agents that the customer company or the user chooses
